Munster Ranking Event – Kinsale – Results

Last weekend Ballincollig Table Tennis Club members travelled to Kinsale for the third Munster ranking of the year. It was run by South Coast table tennis club. On the Saturday competing for the club in the  under 15 boys were David Manning and Cian Ross. After some tough games in the first round, Cian made it through to main draw and David played for the plate and went on to win It.
Cian played some great matches and reached another final against Nick McCloud. It was Cian’s day, winning a great match 3-0.
Thi Ly Cashman  took part in the under 15 girls and came second in a round robin format.
Sunday morning the under 18 event began Cian and David was joined by Erik Olsson, Conor O Callaghan, Ciarán O Donoghue and Ryan Power. It was great to see Ryan back at tournments. Ryan, Conor and Erik were all in the same opening group along with Sean Lisk. Unfortunately both Conor and Ryan didn’t get through this tough group. However, they both reached the final of the plate with Conor winning.
In the main draw David played Erik in the quarter final with Erik winning.
Erik then played Cian in the semi final.
Ciaràn played Isaac Leahy of South Coast.
It was Cian v Ciarán in the final with Ciarán winning 3-1.
In the under 18 girls Thi Ly was joined by her sister Thuy Linh. The girls played a round robin format. The final game was Thuy Linh against Silke Heinen from Leeside. A great game was had by both players with Thuy Linh winning 3-0.
